Everton sealed a 1-0 victory today against Chelsea in the Barclays Premier League and, if you’re a fan of the type of methodical, patient tactics that winning manager Roberto Martinez has brought to his side, it’s a win for your sense of style in football as well. The way in which Everton picked up three points at home today was reminiscent of another early season scalp of one of the Premier League’s big boys, last campaign’s season opener against Manchester United at Goodison. But whereas the Red Devils were bullied into a loss on that day, Everton claimed this victory through outsmarting Chelsea.
